I am busy revising my classical music tagging scheme, in part to take advantage of the new additional browse modes for different contributors (conductors etc). However, I'm having difficulty getting the sort order to work correctly. I am trying to list the contributors in last name order, but present them in "firstname lastname" format. ARTIST works fine if ARTISTSORT is defined as "Lastname, Firstname". So does ALBUMARTIST with ALBUMARTISTSORT. However, the same is not true of COMPOSER and CONDUCTOR. I haven't tried TRACKARTIST or BAND. I've gone through various old threads but I'm still not sure why this is - perhaps because the scanner simply doesn't put COMPOSERSORT or CONDUCTORSORT into the namesort field in the Contributor database? Any ideas? If this is the reason, what would be required to make the treatment of contributors consistent? Or does anyone have a work-round?
