What is the player ?
Have you disabled transcoding ?
Have you changed any of the default settings ?
How did you install LMS ? tarball, rpm ... ?

faad is part of LMS distribution.
For older version of LMS, faad is a 32 bit executable and needs
compatibility libraries.
Newer version of LMS has a 64 bit executable of faad. 
I don't know the LMS version when this change happened.
