Caution: Linux Newb Alert! I'm attempting my first install using Wayne"s
excellent guide for us beginners. The first major step, before introducing
Rivendell 2.0.2, and after getting 11.04 running smoothly, is to paste a long
line of text into the terminal ("sudo apt-get install libcdparanoia...") which
installs pre-requisites in order to install Rivendell.

Problem is after pasting this line into the terminal, the terminal window stops
and asks for my password. However, the window will now not accept any keyboard
input (entering password or anything else), nor will it allow me to "paste" a
password. I'm stumped, but I imagine you know of a simple setting I don't yet
know about.

Possible causes?

I'm using GNOME Terminal 2.32.1

System is installed with a downloaded "Ubuntu Studio" file

Many thanks for any pointers you may care to offer.
