It's mostly automatic. The one thing you need to do is copy your database backup file and your /var/snd directory to another drive and leave it disconnected during the install of 2.
Once 2 is installed, mount the drive with your /var/snd and the database backup on it at the /var/snd mount point. Go into RDAdmin and restore the database from your backup. That will convert the data base to the new schema. That's it.
