I should have put that is my last reply: I do always use a static IP
and will set it once this machine goes to its final resting home. I
just haven't bothered to set a static IP yet while configuring it for
its final destination (the IP scheme will change).

FWIW, you really don’t want to be using DHCP for a Rivendell system, as various
things (e.g. log chaining) will break if the IP address in the host record in
RDAdmin is incorrect. Use a static setup if at all possible.
