Odd, we've been using a Presonus 1818VSL and have access to all channels (18 ins and 18 outs! but they are labeled funny things and the last 8 are ADAT which is not useful to us)
I thought USB sound was fairly standardized these days. For the record I am using Debian's 3.2x version kernel. It did have the problem you are having with an earlier kernel (2.6.26 I believe). Your Ubuntu's kernel should be even newer. HOWEVER: You might have "Pulse Audio" getting in the way so either learn how to configure it to work or better yet uninstall it and so you can access the device through ALSA alone. Try using the basic "alsamixer" command and see what "sound cards" you have a choice of (as in is a "Pulse Audio" device shown first?) and then select your devices directly and see if more channels show up.

And now for my problem, because of just one shop (no hardware) here in Kyrgyzstan I only have a
Lexikon Omega (USB) Interface // 4x2
and a M-Audio Fast Track Pro (USB^^) // 4/4
Rivendell and all Software works great on a fresh Install of Ubuntu 14.04, but the big problem is, I can?t get all channels for the audio interfaces working. It just gives me 1 Out / 1 IN each Interface.
