Some weekend, months from now:

Murrieta Hot Springs Calvary Chapel Conference Center, or twin Peaks
conference center, California, USA. (We deal with a lot of Christian
stations, as does Salem obviously.)

2 types of people: presenters and attendees.

Presenters: teach at least one session. To qualify for waiver of conference
fees, teach 2-3 sessions.

Attendees: pay conference fees to cover their fees and those of presenters.

Cost: TBD. My guess is maybe $300? I'd have to check. Conference would be
"at cost" and cover room and meals at the conference center.

~Thurs, fri, sat, sun

2 tracks: noob, and advanced

Thurs evening: check in and hob nob. Set up your Rivendell systems you
brought.
Fri: noob track: 4 hours, lunch, another 4 hours. Advance track, 4-6
different choose your own seminars in smaller rooms. Evening, free hob nob
in central room with many Rivendell setups.

As many sessions video recorded as possible. Possibly sell dad's to offset
conference costs or post on YouTube.

Sat, same thing: continuing noon sessions, continuing choose your own
advanced sessions.

Sun morning: church if desired, on premises. Sunday lunch. Then, Wrapup
main session with all conference for dividing up volunteer tasks such as
wiki docs sections, editing of the conference video. Complete conf sun
afternoon.

If you would definitely come to this, time/schedule permitting, please mail
me. Please tell me you'd be a presenter or an attendee. If there's enough
interest, we can think about next steps. There are a lot of LPFMs that will
never go to NAB but might come to this.

Presenters would need to be teaching value able Rivendell things, not
making product pitches. I've got no problem with product pitches, say in
the main hall, but we'd want to keep the teaching sessions focused on
education. Topics would be hashed out on this mailing list here well in
advance so we can all use the time well.

I would make no money from this, but I'm not going to lose any on it
either. It would be an "at cost" type of thing, paid in advance.

SoCals nice in the dead of winter!

Andrew
