-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 Hi All,
I'm playing with the more-or-less current Debian packages from the Tryphon repo (version 2.10.2-2) and seem to be hitting a bug or subtle difference between MariaDB and MySQL. I'm happy to file this as an "issue" on github if others can reproduce the problem. To reproduce: - - In a "fresh" Rivendell install on Debian 8.0 (jessie) using MariaDB - - Launch rdadmin - - Select "Manage Services" - - Choose a service from the list and click the Delete button - - (See the error messages [below] if rdadmin was launched from a terminal) The system continues to operate as expected until the next time I stop the "mysql" service. At that point the database service does not restart and it appears as if the Rivendell database is corrupt (the only way to get back to a working system is to re-install the mariadb server package(s)). Simply restoring a known-good set of Rivendell database files does not correct the problem. Here is the output when launching rdadmin from a terminal. In perusing the code in rdsvc.cpp and elsewhere, I suspect this is unrelated to the actual problem, but I thought it might help in troubleshooting (this output occurs with the MySQL database installed too). pmwtech@ram-demo:~$ rdadmin invalid SQL or failed DB connection[Unknown table 'Rivendell.SAMPLE_REC' QMYSQL3: Unable to execute query]: drop table `SAMPLE_REC` Database connection failed: drop table `SAMPLE_REC` Database connection restored. invalid SQL or failed DB connection[Unknown table 'Rivendell.Production_STACK' QMYSQL3: Unable to execute query]: drop table `Production_STACK` Database connection failed: drop table `Production_STACK` Database connection restored.
