Hi James; Thanks for the reply. Here's the latest. We have 3 Rivendell systems all are V2.10.3. Two are from the appliance disk one is compiled from source. All work with Mincom. But only the one works from Rivendell and that one is the, complied from source, machine. BTW the other 2 machines send no output from Rivendell to the com port at all. I'm stumped???????

Finally, just checking, you DO have the full path name to the "TTL Device" in your "Serial port setup" as in "/dev/ttyS0" not just "ttyS0"? I'm also assuming that ttyS0 is in fact your serial port and not something like "/dev/ttyUSB0"?
