For info I have given up running Glasscoder on the VM that we are using for our
station. I have installed it on a dedicated physical machine and it seems to be
stable using GlassCommander.

The problems I was getting must be something to do with it being on a VM
instead of a physical machine.

Sorry for the delay. It's been running fine until now so that's almost 3 days.

Htop showed it steady at VIRT = 569M CPU = 4.7% MEM = 2.3%

I checked it several times a day and it was pretty similar with only the CPU
and MEM increasing or decreassing by tiny amounts. VIRT stayed the same.

Then it crashed so it's no longer showing of course.

Same crash message:
glasscoder: quantize.c:2044: CBR_iteration_loop: Assertion
`cod_info->part2_3_length <= 4095' failed.
Aborted

Well my initial hopes that I had sorted this by increasing the server RAM have
been dashed as the stream dropped again just now with the same error

glasscoder: quantize.c:2044: CBR_iteration_loop: Assertion
`cod_info->part2_3_length <= 4095' failed.

The extra RAM seems to have kept it going for longer between drop outs (several
days) but it still dropped out.

What does top(1) say about memory utilization of the glasscoder process as it
runs over time (in particular, the VIRT parameter)? Does it increase over time?

Cheers!
