Hey Mark, We have sometimes the same issue but I couldn't figure out why yet. The solution I found is to create a little bash script that checks à 00:05:00 if RdAirplay is running, and start it, then load the daily log if not. It doesn't solve the problem but at least, airplay doesn't stay off all night. Tell me if you want to make one and need any help.
Keep me in touch if you find any clue or if you find a way to get a trace of what's going on when it crashes.
