Part of having a release we can consider stable is not just the C and
Tcl codeb, but the whole user experience, if I may abuse a buzzword.

What this means is that not only does the code have to be solid, but it
has to be available and installable from the web site, rather than just
out of CVS.  To do that, though, we need a release, but to do that, we
need to fix these build problems.  Additionally, we need the
documentation to be up to date (the abort_page docs aren't).

Hopefully I can work a bit on the Linux build system, but I don't have
that much time.

In any case, unless these things are fixed, I am -1 WRT a "stable" release.
