never mind, I got around this too: tclconfig/ltmain.sh too had to be changed in order to have a working libtool script.

Sorry but I'm going to revert the libtool.m4 file to the old one: it looked like it was OK at first, autoreconf and configure ran smoothly but it turned out to cause 'make' to fail really badly (some macros were composed in the libtool script totally scrambled). -- Massimo
