I have to check the code out and see how consistently those symbols
were used in the parser. The Tcl implementation of the parser (not
relevant for the module, probably introduced for testing purposes) needs
to know what the tags are. Your objection is sensible, even though, as
Jeff said, Rivet is not unique in the choice of using the <? sequence
for its own purposes.
