Hi Harald
the operation was done last Saturday and I decided to patch the current
status of 2.2 back to r1702115 and then I committed those changes
(obviously after branches/2.3 was copied). I could have made a 2.2
branch from it but that would have made the branch history a bit
contorted. In this way there's a linear discontinuity in that the branch
was rolled back to a previous state, but everything was done from that
point on is still there in its history available from 'svn log'.

Couldn't you branch where all was still together and than better make
foreward commits ?
I use svn each day but with the great TourtoiseSVN user interface, so
don't know about command line interface.
