the operation was done last Saturday and I decided to patch the current status of 2.2 back to r1702115 and then I committed those changes (obviously after branches/2.3 was copied). I could have made a 2.2 branch from it but that would have made the branch history a bit contorted. In this way there's a linear discontinuity in that the branch was rolled back to a previous state, but everything was done from that point on is still there in its history available from 'svn log'.
