My server runs cAos which is similar to redhat. Consequently, to make
things easier with rkhunter I've symbolically linked /etc/caos-release
to /etc/redhat-release.

hashupd-1.8.sh now happily recognises cAos and creates the necessary
database entries. Unfortunately, the release string contains a colon
which causes problems with the database entry:

"cAos: Community Linux release 2.0 (Lorien) 2005.10.13"

Which then causes the following error:

Rootkit Hunter 1.2.8 is running

Determining OS... Ready
Warning: Cannot find Community Linux release 2.0 (Lorien) 2005.10.13
All MD5 checks will be skipped!

I have tried escaping the colon with a backslash and containing the
string within quotes but neither worked. For now I have edited the
release file to remove the colon and rkhunter now appears to be happy.

However, to avoid future problems with cAos I'd be very grateful if
rootkit hunter could please be modified to allow colons in the release
string.
