It will > update your local os.dat file with your O/S and file hashes. I have 3 Fedora Core 5 systems where this is a problem on only 1 of them. All three are configured similarly as mail servers. I just ran hashupd.sh and then --checkall. * System tools Info: prelinked files found Performing 'known good' check... /bin/login [ BAD ] /bin/ls [ BAD ] /bin/netstat [ BAD ] /bin/ps [ BAD ] It says BAD on almost every file. the ones that don't say bad say [ NA ] per the suggestion in the report I run rkhunter --update and it fails. run it again and it goes back to the original error of no valid version tag.
