Dear All:
I am running Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS on a dedicated web server. I just upgraded my
Rkhunter install to 1.4.0, set up the conf file, ran --propud and then ran a
check. Below are the warnings that appear in the log file. Does any of this
look like something anyone has seen before?
Warning: The command '/usr/sbin/adduser' has been replaced by a script:
/usr/sbin/adduser: a /usr/bin/perl script, ASCII text executableWarning: The
command '/usr/bin/ldd' has been replaced by a script: /usr/bin/ldd:
Bourne-Again shell script, ASCII text executableWarning: The command
'/usr/bin/unhide.rb' has been replaced by a script: /usr/bin/unhide.rb: Ruby
script, ASCII textWarning: The command '/usr/bin/lwp-request' has been replaced
by a script: /usr/bin/lwp-request: a /usr/bin/perl -w script, ASCII text
executableWarning: The command '/bin/which' has been replaced by a script:
/bin/which: POSIX shell script, ASCII text executableWarning: Hidden file
found: /dev/.blkid.tab: ASCII textWarning: Hidden file found: /dev/.initramfs:
symbolic link to `/run/initramfs'
I did check /usr/bin/adduser and it is indeed a perl script that
begins:#!/usr/bin/perl# adduser: a utility to add users to the system#
addgroup: a utility to add groups to the system# Copyright (C) 1997, 1998, 1999

program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify# it under
the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by# the Free
Software Foundation; either version 2 of the License, or# (at your option)
any later version.
The other scripts listed are all pretty similar, showing the GNU license info
in the beginning, with the only exception being /bin/which.Please forgive me if
any of these have been answered previously, but I wanted to see if anyone else
is in a similar situation with these messages.
Thanks in advance,
Ralph
