Hi! Just to let you know that we're - finally - getting serious about producing an official KF5 version of RKWard (more details, soon). As part of the preparations, I'm switching over the git branches as follows:
master - will be switched to the KF5 version of RKWard kde4 - new branch to keep the KDE4 versions of RKWard available frameworks - will be deleted Now in order not to cause avoidable breakage, I'm proceeding stepwise. For now, the new branch "kde4" has been created, but master is not yet changed. IF YOU HAVE ANY SCRIPTS / DAILY BUILDS / TOOLS BASED ON CURRENT MASTER: Please switch those over to the kde4-branch as soon as possible. I will be merging frameworks into master around Wednesday this week, at which point existing scripts would probably break. ---- Call for help ---- This is just one out of many inevitable "bureaucratic nuisances". As developer time is scarce, most of it is currently being eaten up by tasks like this, while hardly anything is left over to actually advance the project (and it's not for a lack of ideas). Can you help? One of the areas that is particularly time-consuming is preparing packages for our releases. This includes various Linux distributions (including the debian package that I'm maintaining thus far), but also Mac and Windows builds. If you can "adopt" one of these, i.e. make sure RKWard can be built on that platform, that it gets basic pre-release testing, and deal with whatever formalities are needed to include it in a distribution, that could be a significant contribution to the project. Thanks! Thomas
