once again thanks for the info. With this, I think I have located and fixed the bug in SVN. It would be nice, if you could test and verify whether this is indeed resolved. To do so, either compile the SVN version (http://rkward.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?title=RKWard_SVN), or, if this sounds too complicated, download this file: http://rkward.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/*checkout*/rkward/trunk/rkward/rkward/rbackend/rpackages/rkward/R/internal.R?revision=2126 , save to rkward/rbackend/rpackages/rkward/R/internal.R in your 0.4.8 sources, and do "make" and "make install" again.
