finn said the sid package worked out of the box on his ubuntu 8.10, if i 
understood him correctly. as long as no dependencies are violated, it should 
do the job. but a 64 version would be nice, wouldn't it?

the packages i have made are *only* for hardy installations (8.04), because it 
uses totally different paths for kde4 stuff.

btw, i'm just creating a fresh qemu image of a 8.04 system to rebuild the 
packages. just in case some unconventional things on my installation were 
causing dependency problems.
