I see you have filed a bug about this in gentoo (https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380761), already, and in fact, the fix should be to add an explicit dependency on katepart in the ebuild. I have added a corresponding test and error message in the development version of rkward. Regards Thomas
