Thanks to those who replied. == I haven't yet tried the rescue CD and "safe mode", which I will assume is actually a single user mode. Mostly I am currently in a time crunch and only have a couple of hours every few days to play with this stuff.
== I loaded it from Amethyst ISO images that I downloaded. I initially went to www.linuxiso.org. After the downloads I ran md5sum and everything checked out. I burned the CDs on my WinXP machine since I don't have a burner for my Linux box yet. == I am indeed perplexed about the G200, but when I went to the XFree86 site it pointed out that the mga driver covers a bunch of Matrox cards. == I liked the fact that RL uses grub. I normally keep a grub diskette in my floppy drive and use it to boot into the various distributions. == Basically I like the premise of RL and would like to see it succeed. Coincidentally, I live in the area and so the big "Welcome to Redmond" sign that appears in one of the screen bakground shots is fairly familiar to me. I'll keep plugging away at it for a bit more. Mostly these days I stick with ML8.1 as my "work-a-day" distro. If I can get RL up and stable, then install all the developer stuff I will see if that becomes the new work-a-day.
