iptables is good, but it doesn't have a GUI. If you want something that is
constant over many Unices, your best bet is ipfw, although I know there is
ipchains/iptables support in some of the later BSDs. If you want a personal
endorsement, I use ipfw in conjunction with Squid on an old DECsystem
5000/240 4U rackmount with a 40MHz MIPS 3000 processor, 256MB of SIMMs, and
2GB of hard drive space on two Hitachi Fast SCSI-2 drives. The thing runs
NetBSD 1.5.1, and has run without a hickup for almost a year now.

If you really, really want a GUI, you could use the firewall-config
program. I believe GNOME stores this in Programs->System.
