Here's how I fixed it on Redhat 9.
rm /opt/ymessenger/lib/libgtkhtml.so.20
rm /opt/ymessenger/lib/libgtkhtml.so.20.1.1
ln -s /usr/lib/libgtkhtml-1.1.so.3.0.3
/usr/lib/libgtkhtml.so.20

To address this issue, I re-packaged ymessenger
for Red Hat 9. Please note that this is a totally
unofficial release. I have also taken the liberty of
replacing the crappy looking stock yahoo pixmaps with
Red Hat Bluecurve-ish pixmaps. When you install it,
use "rpm -Uvh --nodeps" otherwise it will complain
that it needs libgtkhtml.so.20 and/or libcrypto.so.2 -
these are both included in the package and properly
linked. It's available at
http://runnhide.cjb.net/RPMS/ymessenger-0.99.19-rh9.i386.rpm
for those that would like to download it and try it
out. After installing the RPM, just run
/usr/bin/ymessenger just as you would with the normal
"real" yahoo RPM.
