Unless, of course, the harm comes in the form of getting your name on a list of 
subversives.

But that's just the paranoia talking.

Then there's the question - does leadership mean a leader listens to his constituents, 
or does he take the mere fact that they elected him as validation of his pre-conceived 
ideas about the world?

But then, this is only tangentially on-topic, in that open source philosophy is a 
political philosophy.
