Hi all, I have been on the phone with 3ware today getting help resolving a problem that may be of interest to those of you who have any NAS or RAID server. We have been using 3ware controllers for a while and really like them. Last week we acquired two 9500S-4LP cards and they would not let us put Fedora Core 1 or 2 on them. Then they would not allow us to install RedHat 9.0 even using the diskette created from their supplied CD-ROM and there is next to nothing on their website about this controller.
It turns out that RedHat released and then recalled their RedHat 9.0 distro. They later re-released 9.0 with a newer kernel without making any change to the media (e.g. 9.0.1). Turns out I had to acquire the "new" 9.0 ISO and then the install went through with their supplied drivers. So now I have two problems. First, I paid for a retail copy of RedHat 9.0 (supporting the open source community) and now I find that it isn't "right". Second, I have this excellent RAID card that I can't get Core 2 to work on. This is frustrating... _______________________________________________ RLUG mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.rlug.org/mailman/listinfo/rlug
