Oh, to make this semi-on-topic, I recently had success doing a gentoo stage 1 install with two 250GB disks using RAID 1 and LVM. It was a major chore, complicated by the fact that I didn't compile vesafb support into the kernel, but it's up now, and it's rad. Creating logical volumes, increasing / decreasing filesystem sizes on the fly is pretty damn cool. Anyway, a good tutorial on this is:
