We should think considerably simpler for the long presentation, as the
topic is beginner level. For example, someone could present "How to check
your email", or "Configuring a printer in KDE", or "How to author a
document in Linux". The topic doesn't have to be generalized. If you
have a simple, customized way you do something (preferrably without
scripting, or terminal) feel free to present it.
I'll slate 64bit vs 32bit for the advanced talk.
I'm in the process of making RLUG an official UNR club so that we can use
UNR facilities without the "man"/"monkey" on our back.
I'll be posting fliers for the meeting this month around campus
(specifically targeting computer science). I'll also send to the IT
mailing list... so, hopefully we'll have a good turnout.

I would definately like to see discussion on the 64 bit vs 32 bit issue on
Thurs. I don't have any other ideas for the meeting though. I have set-up a few
things like ipmasq/firewall, dhcpd, postfix/cyrus mail servers and the like,
but I bet there are members who know more about it than I.

Subject: [RLUG] Topics for next month
Hi All,
We need at least three more presenters for a 10-20minute presentation
relating to "Being Productive with Linux" for our September meeting.
Anyone want to volunteer? If I remember correctly (not looking back
through my email at this point) Rich volunteered to give a short speech on
KDE (or was it Konqueror?!). Regardless, let me know if you have a topic
idea. If you don't like to speak, feel free to prepare material and I'll
deliver it.
I was thinking that we could extend the 32-bit vs 64-bit debate from the
mailing list into the monthly meeting as our advanced topic. There seemed
to be a lot of interest in this topic, and a lot of questions. What do
you think?
