Ubuntu doesn't come with any open ports, so you have to install ssh, samba, etc. Just apt-get update and apt-get install or, better yet, use Synaptic, search and find what you want, and tell it to install.

Well, I know the adventure is only starting, since each new discovery leads to others to solve: SAMBA server, SSH server, plugins for media files, etc.

But, it sure does feel good to use the command line again!
