Subject: Linux Install Workshop

The ACM is putting on its first workshop of the semester. By tradition,
our first workshop will be the Linux installation and introduction
workshop. Most distributions, from beginner to advanced, are welcome and
the ACM will be able to help fine-tune a Linux installation to fit your
needs. You may bring your own computer to the workshop.

Although we can help with most distributions, we have experience working
with Fedora Core, Debian, and Gentoo. If you already have Linux
installed, we can help with upgrading it or switching to a new
distribution. If Linux is not your thing, we can also help you with
Open/Net/FreeBSD. If you would like a specific distribution not listed
here, please let me know before the workshop so I can have the CD's ready.

We are also able to sell CD's containg whichever distribution you
request. The ACM already sells CD-R discs through the ECC lab at $0.50
per disc, and the discs at the workshop will go for the same price. Keep
in mind that some distributions, like Fedora Core, require multiple
CD's, while others, like Gentoo, require only one.

Date: Sunday, September 18
Time: 11:00 AM - 2:00 (or whenever installations are finished)
Location: ECC Lab room C
Fee: $3 for ACM members, $5 for non-members. $0.50 per CD (optional)
