Also, [properly implemented] iterators are just plain sexy.

I was introduced to Python by a Perl guru in
comp.lang.perl.misc.  I was then introduced to Ruby by
a Pythonista in comp.lang.python.  They're all worthwhile
languages.  You only have to specialize in one or two, but the
others are worth a look.

I'll just pretend you didn't mention php.
