Within an hour and a half, we are already up to, at least $20! More
good news, I was not counting Bills 30% discount in my estimate. It
will only cost between $70 and $105, so we only need approx 17 donations
instead of 30!
Bill, when I went to Disability Resources, they assumed I needed a
keyboard, mouse, monitor too, but I am thinking you just need the CPU,
correct? The price dropped from about $130 to $100 flat for CPU only.
And what type of connection does your current mouse and keyboard use?
I do not understand your embarrassment, Bill, nor do I ask you to
explain. I just want to help you out, and I know you can accept this as
a gift from RLUG. It just takes somebody, like myself, to get this sort
of thing started. Really, $5 donation is not that much, especially
compared to the $40 I lost gambling the other day ;-) One plus is that
the donators will soon be able to see that their contributions actually
did make a difference - not like donating to hurricane/tsunami relief,
where the damage is huge, and who knows if their donations were even
responsibly put to use.
I am compiling a list of those participating, located at:
http://jeffshippen.homelinux.com/temp/bill.html . Some have/will offer
more than the asking amount, which is greatly appreciated!

Perhaps there are 30 people on this list that would be willing to donate
$5 to get this guy a computer!
Anybody willing to participate, please e-mail me off list.

...Most of the computers they have are in the $100 -$140 range. They
give a 30 percent (very generous) discount to disabled people, but
that still didn't bring down to cost enough for us to be able to
afford it yet.
...
With appreciation,
