#Microsoft takes stand on 'virtual' licensing
The software giant revamps its software licensing to tackle "virtualization" technology, which could shake up the industry.

#I've just tried the latest Arc Linux and, as a home user, it works very well. It's my first look at KDE 3.5 as well. A bonus is some unique and beautiful wallpapers and Baghira, the Mac-like interface, as one of the alternative styles.

#OpenLab GNU/Linux is a South African distribution based on Slackware Linux, designed primarily for deployment in schools throughout the region. The project's latest release, version 4.0, was announced. It's a relatively easy way to put Slackware on your computer. It's also brightly-brightly colored, in the African tradition, quite pretty.

#The first release candidate of FreeBSD 6.0 has been released: "The release engineering team is proud to announce the availability of FreeBSD 6.0. We encourage everyone to help with testing so any final bugs can be identified and worked out. The following issues are known and will be fixed before the release: a late change in the aac(4) driver may result in the driver failing on some Dell systems; some systems with only USB keyboards might loose keyboard input; some laptops with certain IDE controllers may crash on bootup; the QEMU and VMWare packages are known to expose problems in the IDE CDROM driver during OS install...."
