This seems to be a result of Linode (the current host). I think another
virtual server is robbing us of CPU or other resource... big time. If you
try to visit the webpage it sometimes takes minutes to load (which
suggests to me that we are being robbed of CPU). The mailing list will
suffer slowdowns due to resource starvation.
Just my guess.
