ANNOUNCEMENT November 6, 2006
~~~~
Date: Thursday, October 12, 2006
Time: 6:00 pm
Where: BEA
10315 Professional Circle
Reno
Map: http://www.rlug.org/wiki/GettingToRlug
There is a new meeting location this month, as GBIS is in the
process of relocating. The Location is BEA's building in South
Reno. This is the building that housed Redundant and still houses
Twelve Horses (I think). For long-time members, this was one of the
original meeting places. We will be meeting in the main lobby, then
will move into the conference room.
We will have two presentations this month. The beginner-level topic
is titled "All About SSH" and will be presented by Sebastian Smith.
The advanced-level topic is titled "BGP on Linux" and will be
presented by Brian Morris.
As usual, we will have extra time for short talks or topics this
meeting,
so if you have something of interest you're welcome to bring it up!
There
will also be the obligatory topic tangents, as well as Q&A and general
discussion time.
After the meeting, tasty beverages will be imbibed at Flowing Tide,
located in the shopping center just 2 blocks from the meeting site
on the Northeast corner of the intersection at Highway 395 and South
Meadows.
THE "WHY" PART
~~~~~
The objective of a Linux User Group is to provide a focal point for
the local Unix community to discuss aspects of the Unix operating
system, provide educational services regarding Unix, maintain a list
of Unix savvy consultants, and to provide a social environment for
Unix users to meet and exchange ideas.
