We have been running Robinhood with MySQL Community Edition 5.6 for a few
months now without any problems. MySQL 5.6 seems indeed to be the most recent
version that Robinhood (v3.0) does support. It’s not clear to me if it is
really faster than 5.1, but for sure it’s not worse.

I tried 5.7 but had some trouble with it - a good thing would be to investigate
further the issues as this version adds performance improvements that could
perhaps benefit to Robinhood. It is easy to install on a RedHat-like server
thanks to the MySQL Community yum repository.
