The sad news is that the FUSYN approach was abandoned last year, and that there are no community supported patches to implement this in the 2.6.14 epoch. However, the good news is that the need for the features is understood now by kernel.org and folks have been working on smaller, lighter weight ways to get this functionality working and in. Khem Raj replied: > 2.6.17+ and glibc 2.4 should have robust mutexes implemented. Huge(!) thanks to Ingo and many here, Lightweight Robust Futexes will be implemented as Khem says... Linus and Ulrich have included them in development versions. For Priority Inheritance it's not in the standard kernel yet, there are on the order of 100 patches needing to be accepted to bring them in. You can help out with the PREEMPT_RT patchset, which depends on and needs Thomas Gleixner's Generic IRQ restructuring, and John Stultz' generic clock sources and new time of day -- in particular these features need more embedded arch support, although that has proved to be tricky. These are getting airplay for x86 and perhaps powerpc in the kernel -mm branch and are getting closer to acceptance but need our help. I admit to being fairly unaware of recent development as to who might be looking at Deadlock Detection.
