Rombox works, I have a pretty recent one running on my RecV1. You have to
use Bootbox, though. Look in the daily builds, they should contain it, too.

You seem to miss a tool. Below looks rather different, the new
self-extracting .ajz can't be built. This has been introduced to overcome
another limit: the 200kB barrier for non-flashers.

I definitely won't hope so.
A message to our "new" developers who don't have an Archos: please code with
"size matters" discipline, especially if that code ends up in the Archos
models, too.
Else we may end up with a fork, something very nasty.
