As of now it uses the plugin buffer. Using the main ram would remove the
limitation to be not able to run other plugins.
As for the playback: No, in it's current form it starts with active
playback and it doesn't stop it.
In my proposal you would need to stop the playback (in order to steal main
ram safely). That's something that can be done automatically on starting
though (mpegplayer and doom do it).
I'm not sure what speech has to do with it.
Sorry, i'm probably mixing 2 issues up hear.
I was thinking a user could start the plugin when playback was running,
which would be hard for a speech user as you can only really use speech when
a file is not running.
