Hey all! I had a thought on my mind that I'd like to share.

In a recent mailing list thread, TheSeven was making a point to
have the iPod nano 2G promoted to "Stable" status. When I read
his thread, I started thinking that we have a couple of players that
can be pushed to "Unstable" status very soon; specifically, the
Philips GoGear HDD16x0 series. The HDD6330 and SA9200 series
still need a little more work before they're ready for the push (the HDD6330
still has no plugin keymaps, and the SA9200 is lacking artwork for some
plugins before they can be enabled), but the HDD1630 is pretty much a fully
working Rockbox port.

About the only thing I can think of that's wrong with the HDD1630 port is that
battery life is still less than the OF battery life. However, this
hasn't stopped
the iPod and other PP ports in the past from going to "Unstable" or even
"Stable".

There are already detailed install instructions in the wiki; the
HDD6330 and HDD1630
install methods are very similar: http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/GoGearHDD6330

Installation is similar to other PP-based targets (Samsung YH, H10, m:robe 100).

About the only things really needed are a manual and Rockbox Utility
install support.
IIRC there may be dual-boot support in the bootloader, but I never
boot into the OF
on my HDD1630 at all, so I don't remember. I don't believe that these issues are
major showstoppers, as they haven't stopped other devices from going to Unstable
status.

Any thoughts on promoting the HDD1630 to Unstable?
