I'm pretty sure you're the only person who actually has issues with
T&D going into settings, because you believe that it's not a setting.
There's plenty of discussion on the topic in IRC, so your statement
"the only way to get any discussion is to commit and fend off the
hordes" isn't really true. Rather it seems like you disagree with "the
hordes" general consensus that for the time being, the two don't need
to be merged, and are rushing in a change for personal preference.
You're more or less the lone dissenter on the issue, at the moment.
This patch doesn't need to be committed, the T&D rework patch is
getting the necessary changes for the time being.
