Hi Everybody,
I'm about to move my RODOPI database to a new machine, and just wanted to check and see if anybody had any advice.
I'm planning to move and upgrade to SQL Server 2000 at the same time, using a detach/attach process outlined in http://www.sqlteam.com/item.asp?ItemID=9465 (which is NOT Rodopi-specific).
Eventually (as in within the next couple of weeks), I'll also be moving the web part of RODOPI onto this same new machine.
My plan:
- Move/upgrade SQL server - Re-aim web part at the new SQL Server - Move web part to new server - Upgrade to 5.3SP3.
Right now we're running 5.2 SP2. I was unable to upgrade to 5.3 due to the fact that we had not yet upgraded my SQL Server (for this) to 2000.
Any thoughts or advice about moving the DB? Are there other processes running on the SQL Server that I need to be cognizant of? My recollection is that everything else runs on the web server (procedures server, RODOPI server, CC processing, etc). Am I remembering right?
Thanks in advance.
