I think that its time for us to finally give up on our access-one.com domain. It seems that the domain is so totally compromised that its not worth putting up with the hassles. We are seeing massive DDOS attacks hitting us again today, huge numbers of dns packets that are literally coming at us from all over the globe. From what investigation we've done is appears that these are coming from zombied machines infected with sobig and mytob viruses and they are using our domain when sending out spam. The number of virus infected bounces is huge along with the abuse complaints and bounce notices from all over the globe.
Here's my question. We use Rodopi as our OSS software for billing and authentication. Since Rodopi has configured with the access-one.com domain what are our best options for converting people over to the new domain? We can't just switch everyone in Rodopi because then the customers would not be ready, it looks to me like we're going to have to have two authentication methods running or two domains until we get people switched over and then can shut downnn the old domain. We do have a MISP version of Rodopi and only one isp is being used right now but if we try to fire up the new domain as the second one we will exceed our license count. I suppose that buying a more license counts is not the end of the world and that may be the answer to the main problem. On the other hand we can't have people showing up twice since that will offset the billing information. My head is swimming right now with the whole thing and I'm asking for suggestions. If you've ever switched domains I would sure like to hear form you with lots of details as to how you accomplished it, with the users, with your billing software (especially Rodopi) etc. I see a real nightmare ahead but at least it will put an end to the one we already have going.
