Liebe Freundinnen und Freunde des Edith-Russ-Hauses für Medienkunst, sehr herzlich möchten wir Sie einladen zur Eröffnung der nächsten Ausstellung: Ho Tzu Nyen - EARTH - am 05. Juni 2015 um 18.00 Uhr im Pulverturm, Am Schlosswall, 26122 Oldenburg Ausstellung vom 06. Juni bis 05. Juli 2015 Einführung: Edit Molnár & Marcel Schwierin Leitung Edith-Russ-Haus für Medienkunst Ho Tzu Nyen EARTH 2010 , Einkanal-Videoinstallation In einer einzigen Einstellung mit 50 Schauspielern gedreht, bildet Earth ein Tableau Vivant (lebendes Bild) einer dystopischen Science-Fiction: die Welt nach dem Desaster. Die Kompositionen zitieren Gemälde der europäischen Kunstgeschichte, besonders Motive der französischen Revolution. Im 1529 erbauten Pulverturm entsteht so ein historischer Bogen von der Renaissance über die Aufklärung bis in eine ungewisse Zukunft hinein. Die Installation lässt die Besucher in eine andere, eine rätselhafte Welt eintauchen. Zu dieser Videoinstallation gibt es mehrere Tonfassungen, wir zeigen die Fassungen von Yasuhiro Morinaga und Black to Comm. Ho Tzu Nyen (*1976 in Singapur) arbeitet in den Medien Film, Video, Performance und Theater. Er hat Filme unter anderem auf Festivals wie Berlinale, Cannes und Sundance gezeigt, auf der Shanghai Biennale, in der Tate Modern und in Witte de With ausgestellt und Singapur auf der 54. Venedig Biennale repräsentiert. Er lebt zurzeit in Berlin. Öffnungszeiten Freitag 14 - 18 Samstag und Sonntag 11 - 18 Uhr Der Eintritt ist frei. Führungen Am 14. und am 28. Juli findet jeweils um 15 Uhr eine Sonderführung durch die Installation statt. Der Eintritt ist frei. The compositions reference paintings from European art history, especially motifs from the French Revolution. In the Powder Tower, built in 1529, a historical arc is created, encompassing the Renaissance to the Enlightenment to an uncertain future.
