The conference warmly encourages in-person participation while also offering online presentation opportunities where possible.

It will have a special focus on the relationships between acoustic ecology/soundscape studies and democratic processes, social cohesion, sustainability, and participation, and will explore - against the backdrop of learning, adaptive, and agentic systems - how relational and context-dependent listening practices - particularly those mediated by technology - can redefine the notion of an acoustically beneficial environment.

We are honored to announce the following keynote speakers and keynote workshop facilitators:

Keynote Lectures:

Mohammed Boubezari (Lisbon, Portugal)

Can We Shape Cities by Ear?

Co-creating livable urban soundscapes through ambiance-oriented design

Diane Schuh (Paris, France)

Sound Ecologies Beyond the Human, Exposing Articulation Through Artistic Research

Barry Truax (Burnaby, Canada)

The Evolution of the Listener within a Technologically Saturated Soundscape

From surrogate environments to the aural sublime
