Being asked for the same thing.

My thinking was that I could use mod_rewrite. I'm already using Apache
HTTP to handle the port 80 and the virtual host, so maybe a bit of
mod_rewrite magic could do it. I know very little mod_rewrite magic;
so this is said with a fair amount of random hope :)
