I have recently installed roller 2.3, and the installation seems to have been

The problem occurs when I attempt to create a new blog, when I get an error
page informing that an unexpected exception has been encountered. The resulting
exceptions appear below.

This doesn't appear to be the same problem encountered by Eric Bard (07 Jun), and deleting the
"work" directory from Tomcat doesn't help. Once the error has occurred, then subsequent
attempts to load other pages fail. Tailing the output from mySQL indicates that each attempt to
load a page results in "mysqld restarted".

My installation is a binary distribution of 2.3 on SunOS 5.9, with the
following setup:
mySQL 5.0.15
mysql-connector-java-3.1.10-bin.jar
jre 1.5.0_04
Tomcat 5.5.9
Hibernate 3

I've also installed 2.3 on my Windows laptop, and have been unable to reproduce
the issue on that platform when using a local mySQL server. However, if I try
to use the mySQL server on the Sun box, the problem occurs again. Could this be
a problem with the mySQL instance? Other webapps are using it quite happily, if
that's of any consequence!

Sure sounds like a serious problem with your MySQL configuration and
not with Roller That "mysqld restarted" message is especially ominous.
