Some suggestions:
(1) Make sure you also changed the docBase property in the roller.xml to
point to your installed location.
(2) There is generally more diagnostic info in the
CATALINA_HOME/logs/roller.log file when this happens. Snip an excerpt of
that in your next post and hopefully someone will recognize the problem.

I am getting the following error when I try to run the tomcat init script:
SEVERE: Error deploying configuration descriptor roller.xml
I followed the install directions here:
http://rollerweblogger.org/docs/installguide/generated/roller-install-guide.html
The only thing I changed was
1) the location of the roller install (/home/http/roller instead of
/usr/local/roller)
2) postgres backend instead of mysql
The error is quite useless without more information. I was hoping
someone else had seen it tho.
