having difficulty remembering the (code) details offhand, but *think* the
bug is in load_socials() in db2.c ... check references to social_count and
maxSocial. took me a bit to track down that problem when I ran into it a
while  back... actual issue is that counter for number of socials loaded
during first (conversion) boot isn't getting incremented in the right
place.
